[NI112] From "The Heritage of Rowan County North Carolina", Vol. 1, 1991, Article 497, "Jessee Hodge" by Patricia B. Beck:
"George Hodge married Elizabeth Parker on 27 March 1805. Joseph Hodge born 6 June 1786, died 26 October 1850. He married Mary "Polly" Norbitt who died 12 Nov 1857. They had eight children. John married Sally Womack."

[NI113] From "The Heritage of Rowan County North Carolina", Vol. 1, 1991, Article 497, "Jessee Hodge" by Patricia B. Beck:

"Jessee Hodge was born 29 Feb 1792 in Rowan County. He married on 3 Oct 1811 Ruhamah Palmer, daughter of John B. Palmer and Sarah Rich. Their children were: Hannah, Polly, Catherine, Eliza, Sarah, Abram A., and John F. The Hodge family were members of the Lick Creek Baptist Church. The church is located on the Davidson County side of the Yadkin River. Joseph, John and Jessee Hodge are mentioned numerous times in the records of the church. On 16 Aug 1828 Jessee Hodge bought 318 1/2 acres on Panther Creek from Edmund Palmer. Ruhamah Palmer Hodge born on 27 November 1792, died 12 July 1840 and is buried in the Reed Cemetery in Rowan County on the Yadkin River off River Road. On 6 Jan 1852, Jessee Hodge married Philpena Isenhour, daughter of Peter Isenhour and Mary Canup. Their only child was Crissie Jane. Jesse died on 3 Jan 1864 and is buried in the Reed Cemetery with his first wife. His will was made on 4 November 1863 and probated in February 1864. Philpena Isenhour Hodge, born 4 July 1819 died 19 September 1886 and is buried at Luthers Lutheran Church off Stokes Ferry Road.

[NI221] After Robert Webb died, Effie Hodge Webb married Vollie O. Hicks of Big Sandy, Tennessee, and had one child together, Maggie Hicks Lowe, who is still alive. Maggie married Harold Lee Lowe of Mansfield. Effie had one step-daughter, Wilene Whitlow of Atlanta, Georgia, and two stepsons, Thelan Hicks of Mansfield and Teddy Hicks of Leesburg, Florida.

Vollie Hicks died in 1941 and is buried in the Shiloh Cemetery in Mansfield next to Effie. Effie was known by the family as "Ma Hicks" and she died on July 29, 1963, at the home of Harold and Maggie Lowe at the age of 84. At the time of her death, she had 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Mansfield Baptist Church.

"Tradition has it that John Hodge of England had three sons who came to the British Colonies and fought in the Revolutionary War: George, Joseph and John. 'Roster of Soldiers from North Carolina in the American Revolution' reprinted by the Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. lists a number of John and Joseph Hodges and several named George Hodge."

MRS. GAILOR DIED LAST WEEK IN LOUISVILLE.

THE O. D. WHITE FUNERAL HOME IN LOUISVILLE WAS IN CHARGE OF CREMATION ARRANGEMENTS. LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS ARE BEING HANDLED BY SMITH FUNERAL HOME.
