Doddridge Walter Wiley
(1877-1941)


        DODDRIDGE WALTER WILEY, son of Thomas Autrey Wiley and Nancy Ann Elizabeth Smith, was born January 13, 1877 in Hardy, Montague County, Texas and died February 27, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas.  He married OLA MAE DONNELL, daughter of Daniel Washington Donnell and Jane Catherine Grissom on August 18, 1904 in Cooke County, Texas.

        D. W. grew up in the town of Saint Jo, in Montague County, Texas and moved to Wichita Falls, Texas in 1909.  He was a well known cotton broker throughout Northeast Texas  He and his wife, Ola Mae, raised a large family of twelve children in their home on Tenth Street in Wichita Falls.  One son, Donald, died tragically in 1923 after having been injured in a high school football game.

        D. W. was a charter memberof the Texas Cotton Association.  He also held membership in the Elksand Knights of Pythias Lodge in Wichita Falls and was a member of the SaintJo Methodist Church.
